Ipswich met Westminster on Friday 16th September, with two of our Partners meeting with local MP’s to discuss very different local issues. Our Commercial Litigation Partner Graham Mead met with Ben Gummer MP, John Howard of Ipswich Wharf Developments Ltd, Chris Cotton of the China Britain Business Council and Annie Eaves of LinksEast to discuss promoting the region to China.

Emma Woollard, our Private Client Partner met with her MP for South Suffolk, James Cartlidge to raise concerns about the cuts made to community transport and the impact this is having on the elderly and disabled members of the community. As part of a small group of parish, district and local Councillors, local volunteers and service users, a helpful discussion was had which will go back to Suffolk County Council. Emma with her Suffolk Age UK Trustee hat on reported that rural communities throughout the county were experiencing difficulties with the new community transport provided and that an urgent review was needed!
