Making planning applications and appeals
Planning permission can make an enormous difference to the value of land. Whether it is infilling in town or green field development, we all know stories where fortunes have been transformed by the sale of land with the benefit of planning permission. Or, permission to extend your home or business may mean you do not have to move with all the costs and hassle that entails.
Quite a bit can be done without permission – called permitted development – and we can advise on what development rights you already have. If you want to do more and need permission, we can advise how best to make your application, counter likely objections and then help you find your way around the planning system.
Whether you are a developer seeking to obtain planning permission or a landowner wishing to make the most of the development value of your property, you may need advice about how to negotiate the current planning system. This might involve the submission of an expression of interest to the local Council as part of the Local Development Framework initiative. It might also need a formal submission for inclusion of land in a site specific plan. There may be a need to make a formal planning application outside this procedure.
We can work with you, your architect, builder, agent or planning consultant to provide the best chance of getting planning permission for what you wish to do.
