Outside work Andrew is very involved with his large busy family and is very active in his local community. He likes nothing more however than escaping to his beloved Southern Ireland for some well deserved peace and quiet.

Demelza has significant experience in relation to children matters and prides herself on sound, sensible and practical advice in a non-acrimonious child-focused manner.

Ed Manning - Commercial Lawyer

Ed is a commercially minded and solution-driven Commercial Lawyer and Affiliate of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
Ed joined Blocks in May 2018 and brings with him over five years’ experience working in a commercial, in-house setting where he specialised in commercial contracts, procurement law, intellectual property, out-sourcing, data protection and commercial employment matters.
In addition, Ed has a broad understanding of the utility industry and has advised on matters ranging from civil engineering framework contracts to multi-million-pound joint ventures, outsourcing projects and district heat contracts.
Ed will provide you with sound commercial legal advice and believes in a strategic approach to issues in order to arrive at the desired commercial destination.
Outside work Ed enjoys nothing more than a real ale or a good glass of red wine and a long walk in the country with his very enthusiastic chocolate lab Phoebe. Rumour has it that we have a very talented musician in our midst, hopefully, we might have a sneak preview soon.
Emma Woollard - Partner

Emma heads up our Private Client Team. Emma specialises in Wills, Administration of Estates, Care Home Funding, Powers of Attorney and is a Court of Protection Deputy for a number of clients of all ages. She is passionate about providing her clients with the information, advice and practical support they need at what are often difficult and complex times.
Emma takes a holistic approach and will look to offer advice to families in a sensible and practical manner. She will look at all aspects of succession planning, planning for the future to ensure you are as tax efficient and worry free as possible.
Emma is a Dementia Champion, a Director of Gymnastics in Ipswich – Pipers Vale and a Trustee of Suffolk Age UK.
Outside work Emma is kept busy by her teenage sons, a rather wild garden, a house in a partial state of renovation and has just been signed up to help her village with their Neighbourhood Plan.

Frances qualified as a Solicitor in 1987. She has experience in a wide variety of environments including a range of private businesses, the City of London, education, the health service and local government. Outside work Frances is a Mum to four grown up girls, loves baking and is very active and supportive in her local community.

Gerry heads up our Agricultural Team. Gerry has spent more years than he cares to remember advising Farms, Landowners and Rural Business on all aspects of sales and purchases, finances, diversification, renewable energy and rural developments.
When advising his clients on all aspects of succession planning, he is able to help them look at the big picture and offer strategic advice.
Outside of work Gerry is an avid walker often taking on the fells and mountains of the Lake District and Scotland, he is actively involved in his local community and village charitable activities and likes nothing more than relaxing with a good history book.

Outside work Graham is a busy Father to two young girls and when he has the time to escape he will usually be found hurtling through forests and down hills on his mountain bike.

John has over 30 years’ experience in matrimonial and family law gained in North London and Suffolk.
John deals with divorce and relationship breakdown, he also deals with financial and property issues between married and cohabiting couples as well as claims for beneficial interests in property and applications to vary nuptial settlements. John also deals with applications for non-molestation orders and occupation orders under the Family Law Act 1996. John’s reported cases include Newlon Housing Trust v Alsulaimen (1999) AC 313, Re: G (Children) (2005) EWCA Civ 1283 and Re S (A Child) (Effect of long-term supervised contact on welfare) (2015) EWCACiv 689.

Sue is part of the Private Client team and specialises in Court of Protection work and Care Home Funding. Both these areas bring forward the need to strike a balance between utilising and protecting existing property and assets to their best advantage.
Sue deals with all aspects of Court of Protection work including: Deputy Applications, Court Of Protection related administration, preparing and submitting annual Deputyship Accounts and Reports. Sue also assists clients with Lasting Power of Attorney applications and understanding the changing world of care home funding.
Outside of work Sue is an avid follower of the flat course/jump course riding scene.
